About This Spot

Stepping into Salt Broadstairs is like finding a quiet pause on a busy High Street—an intimate, unhurried corner where locals gather over thoughtfully brewed coffee and simple, honest food. The air carries the warm scent of freshly baked sourdough mingled with the gentle hum of easy conversation, making it a welcome nook for anyone looking to catch a moment of calm or share a slow morning with friends.

There’s a comforting rhythm here, neither rushed nor stagnant, where baristas greet each guest with a familiar smile, and the clink of ceramic cups adds to the inviting soundtrack. The space, cozy yet open, feels balanced between a retreat and a neighborhood hub—perfect whether you’re settling in with a laptop, meeting a friend for brunch, or just pausing before the next train.

The menu quietly showcases care and seasonality, with offerings that feel both nourishing and approachable. From smooth cappuccinos to vibrant bowls of acai, or the kind of toasted baguette laden with creamy avocado and a surprising twist of kimchi, everything hints at a kitchen attentive to flavours that linger. It’s a place that understands coffee is more than a caffeine fix, and breakfast is more than a routine — it’s a small, satisfying ritual.

What makes Salt Broadstairs truly stand out is the sense of community threaded through its atmosphere. It’s a spot where familiar faces blend with new visitors, all drawn by the warmth of authentic human connection—whether it’s the soft chatter exchanged over a green smoothie or the easy camaraderie extended to four-legged friends. Here, the everyday is made a little sweeter, and sometimes, a little simpler, through genuine hospitality and a shared appreciation for good company and well-made food.

Have come to Salt Neighbourhood Cafe since it opened - my husband and I love the friendly atmosphere. In the early days we could always guarantee being able to buy excellent, fresh vegan food here plus other items - it was a brilliant source of community during Covid. The food is fresh and appetizing and the cafe is a quiet place to sit and relax, with a good atmosphere. It’s always has and will remain a firm favourite place of ours to eat.

Came here for brunch. It was busy but luckily there was a table free for the four of us. You order and pay at the til. The staff were all really lovely and answered any questions we had. I ordered a caramel latte and a smoked salmon bagel (no alcohol i know!) Ut came to 13.50 which i thought was quite reasonable. My friends had.... A chai latte and a cinnamon bun A hot chocolate and the vitamin sea acai bowl A cappuccino and a black olive and sun dried tomato scone. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. The facilities were nice and clean and the service great if a little slow, but as I said it was quite busy.

Cute and cozy cafe near the train station! Coffee was really good and my partner absolutely enjoyed the smoked salmon bagel. Would definitely recommend!

What a little gem. Enjoyed a very good green smoothie and soy latte while getting some laptop time before the train. A great spot for remote work or catch up with a friend. Doggo friendly.

Tasty coffee and super friendly staff! The place is dog-friendly which is a big plus, and the decoration is really nice and cozy. I had a panini which was delicious, and their cakes looked amazing too—I’ll definitely try one next time. They also have a few tables outside, which is great if you’re a smoker or just enjoy sitting outdoors. A lovely spot overall!

This is a lovely place to go for breakfast. The menu is small but there are plenty of nice options to choose from. The pancakes were fresh and fluffy with delicious fruit and maple syrup. The bee pollen was a new one on me but added a nice sweet crunch. I also had the mango kefir smoothie, which tasted delightful. There’s a nice cosy vibe to the cafe and the staff are friendly.
